Virtual Research Talk Discover Austria: Where Research meets Opportunities

Attending a networking event offers a convenient and efficient method to connect with potential partners for collaboration.

1. Register for the Event

   Register via the "Register"-button on the top right corner.

2. Create your Profile to showcase who you are and for what are you looking for

   Create a clear and concise profile to raise your visibility on the b2match platform.

   Your profile should describe who you are, what you can offer to potential partners, and who you want to meet. Don’t forget to add a pitch, biography, your skills and interests to your profile. A good networking profile could generate significantly more meeting requests.

3. Be part of our Event

   Expect compact lectures and presentations on Austria as a research location and on current research focuses in the fields of AI and life sciences. Book your session (or all of them) in the Agenda.

4. Browse Profiles of Attendees

   Go to the "List of Companies" and "International Researchers and Others" to find out who you could meet at the event and who is offering interesting and promising business opportunities.

5. Send & Receive requests for 1:1 Sessions

   Browse participant profiles and send meeting requests for 1:1 Sessions to those you want to meet during the event. Send out messages to interesting participants to introduce yourself and initiate conversations even before the event to establish stronger connections for a stronger network.

6. "My schedule" and "Meetings Overview"

   Access your 1:1 Sessions in "My Schedule" or "Meetings", where you have your complete schedule for the event, as well as the list of your 1:1 sessions. If it is a virtual meeting, check your camera and microphone before joining, and don't be late!

Here you have the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with other participants. You can view your arranged 1:1 Sessions on your profile under the “Networking” icon. All participants can arrange 1:1 meetings by prior request. If a request has not been answered within 7 days, it will expire. The duration of this appointment is predefined at 15 minutes. To ensure that you do not miss any requests, we recommend activating the e-mail notification.

15 minutes run fast, but they are crucial for building initial connections as they provide a targeted way to meet potential collaboration partners, allowing participants to quickly evaluate each other's interests and expertise, and identify common goals and synergies.

We recommend that you send your requests for 1:1 sessions 3 days before the event so that your desired meeting partners can respond to them in good time.
