Digital Health Validation Center

The Clinical Validation Center for Digital Health (CVCSD) aims to generate clinical and scientific evidence on the impact of digital health as well as to technology transference of innovative health technologies between the industry and public entities in the health and social care sector.

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, a high-complexity hospital with more than 600 years of history, a current activity of 35.500 inpatients per year, 160.000 emergencies and more than 460.000 outpatient appointments, and Barcelona Health Hub, an innovation-oriented non-profit association with more than 500 associates including start-ups, industrial partners, universities and other organizations working in digital health, started in 2022 this joint initiative that aims to generate clinical evidence of digital health solutions, and to promote adoption and technology transference from the industry to healthcare.

With and agile, structured and scientific-methodological approach, and relying on an international network of stakeholders, the CVCSD offers a number of services to organizations developing digital health technologies and services, tailored to their needs and the level of maturity of their technology (based on the CIMIT’s maturity tool) in their pathway to adoption.

From ideation and design, to proof of concept, proof of value, clinical validation and adoption in clinical practice, CVCSD provides services such as: consultancy services in digital health, access to professionals and patients/caregivers, access to a technology-oriented ethics sub-committee, coordination of studies (CRO), methodological and statistical analysis, scientific production (medical writing), clinical advice, needs analysis, user experience methodologies, value-based-healthcare analysis, technology transference and adoption, communication and dissemination, regulatory advice and observatory of trends, among others. 

Services are provided with the quality seal of a high complex hospital and the agility of an innovation hub, making the most of our multi-disciplinary team, supported by an external advisory board, together with structural support teams in Hospital Sant Pau and Barcelona Health Hub.
