About me

Anca Greere is Professor of English Linguistics and Translation Studies at the Babeș‑Bolyai University in Romania and was formerly the Director of its European Master’s Programme in Translation Studies and Terminology. Professor Greere has been actively involved in promoting professionally-oriented higher education for translation careers, having also conducted extensive research into innovative training methodologies for translators, BA/MA syllabus and curriculum design, as well as the implementation of professional standards in emerging markets. She has contributed nationally and at European level to set quality standards and review translation education, and also oversees PhD-level research in the use of MT and AI for specialised translations and MTPE for the Romanian language. For the Directorate-General for Translation, Professor Greere has represented Romania in the European Master’s in Translation Network and delivered development workshops. During the lead-up to Romania joining the European Union, Professor Greere was a translator/reviser in the working group for the translation of the acquis communautaire into Romanian and subsequently published a comprehensive study outlining the impact and legacy of this majorly collaborative project.
