Flexible Water-Energy Systems for Sustainable Management (FLEXWAT)
About
The FLEXWAT project aims to develop an integrated and flexible water-energy management system that optimizes resource efficiency, enhances resilience, and supports the clean energy transition. By addressing the growing demands for water and energy resources, FLEXWAT provides a scalable and commercially viable solution aligned with global sustainability and decarbonization goals.
The project leverages IoT-enabled real-time monitoring, AI-driven predictive modeling, and adaptive energy storage to manage resource variability effectively and maximize renewable energy integration. These innovations ensure dynamic and efficient management of water and energy systems across diverse sectors, including urban utilities, agriculture, and industrial zones.
FLEXWAT will be implemented in carefully selected pilot locations to evaluate its adaptability under different environmental and operational conditions. The project outcomes include enhanced resource efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and the development of a replicable framework for flexible resource management systems.
Through collaboration with partners, FLEXWAT seeks to integrate cross-sectoral expertise, foster innovative solutions, and deliver measurable impacts, including optimized energy-water management and widespread adoption of sustainable practices. The project’s results will provide valuable insights and tools for future applications, contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy-water nexus globally.
