We are the Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corporation, also known as TÜPRAŞ A.Ş. As the largest refiner of crude oil in Turkey, our organization plays a pivotal role in meeting the energy needs of the country. With our state-of-the-art refineries and extensive distribution network, we are committed to excellence in product quality, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability. Join us at our b2b networking event to explore partnership opportunities and discover the potential for mutual growth in the energy sector.
After completing my undergraduate education in chemistry, I realized that I was interested in energy subjects and therefore electrochemistry. However, I realized late that education creates sharp walls between basic science and engineering in the country I live in, and I decided to do my master’s degree in Energy and Energy Systems Engineering in order to get my engineering perspective on energy applications. I had the chance to complete my PhD in collaboration with “Max-Planck Institute Colloids and Interfaces” and “Postdam University” by gaining experiences on electrochemical nitrogen reduction reactions, electrochemical ammonia synthesis, energy applications of carbon materials, ionic liquids, fundamentals of electrolysis systems and design and etc. For nearly 2 years, I have been trying to support one of the important refineries of Europe (7th largest refinery) to become carbon neutral by 2050 with R&D projects and studies. In addition to my technical and scientific experience, as a H2 team product owner, I take a role in creating a vibrant value chain in Turkey, which has baby steps in the H2 field, such as developing business networks for the hydrogen ecosystem and projecting industrial applications and studies.
Now, I am looking forward to starting green hydrogen production as the leader of a circular economy energy hub in Turkey (İzmir) in the IS2H4C project, which is currently eligible to be supported by the EU. In addition, under the coordination of Tüpraş, we are pursuing a dream for 2024 applications in IzmirHorizon EU Small scale H2 Valley. Consortium studies continue and all partnership opportunities towards the same goal to develop the H2 backbone in Turkey and Europe are welcomed.
Besides of Valley application preparation, "Tüpraş H2 Team" is interested in multiple H2 projects which could be beneficial for industrial application/ site implementation and data optimization/ open field H2 tech. trials for TRL improvement.
