Zürich, Switzerland
The European Geothermal Congress 2025 | EGC 2025
Welcome to the EGC 2025 |Call for abstracts closed!
The 2025 edition of the European Geothermal Congress (EGC) will be held on 6th – 10th October 2025 at the Zurich Congress Centre, Switzerland. EGC 2025 is organised by EGEC Geothermal in cooperation with Geothermie-Schweiz.
The organisers request the submission of abstracts for papers concerning all areas of geothermal energy use, for power generation, heating and cooling supply, thermal underground storage and extraction of minerals. Both the technological and the social-economic side will be covered.
The programme will be divided into four basic threads or “streams”, using the practises and standards appropriate to each respective target group. We hope, however, that you will use this unique opportunity to look outside your own normal sphere or interest and learn about the work of those in other fields, all connected by the desire to give geothermal energy the spot on the energy landscape it deserves!
The four streams are:
-
Research and Development (TRL: 1-5)
-
Technology and Innovation (TRL: 6-9)
-
Geothermal solutions for the energy system integration
-
Financing, Regulations, Policy, Communications and Market
Please consider which stream is appropriate for your proposal, as reviewing and acceptance procedures will vary according to the usual practice in these fields.
Practical Information
The language of the congress will be English.
Please submit your 1-page-abstracts (max 3,000 characters including space) via the online submission tool. For any issues with the online submission tool, please contact the secretariat at change.

The authors will be informed of the decision on acceptance of their abstracts by the end of 2024. Final papers will be required by February 2025. The papers (maximum 10 pages) will be published in the conference proceedings in electronic form.
