The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) was established through Legal Notice No.24 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and published on 13th February 2015. The Fund is governed by the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 (National Government Affirmative Action Fund), Regulations 2016. It is one of the Government initiatives anchored on the Social Pillar of the Kenya Vision 2030 to socio-economically empower the affirmative action groups which include; women, youth, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), needy children and elderly persons in the Country.
My name is Ms. Abisage Boyani Obara. I currently hold the position of principal Programs Officer and Technical Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer at the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) republic of Kenya.
With over five years’ experience in public service, I have previously served as the Chief of Staff and Technical Advisor to the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), State Department of ICT and State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, Kenya.
My responsibilities included coordination of the office of the Chief Administrative Secretary with other Ministries, State Departments, State Agencies, Private sector, International Organizations, Embassies, High Commissions, and the Media.
Prior to public service, I have worked as the Regional Manager, OPTICA Limited, and Administrative Manager at The University of Maryland, Baltimore-PACT TIMIZA program.
I am a Masters of Arts in International Studies Graduate from The University of Nairobi. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree of Education in Home Economics from Kenyatta University and have undergone various advanced professional trainings.
Notably, I am recognized as a KICTANET Internet Governance Fellow and is a member of The Kenya Institute of Management and The International Relations Society of Kenya.
