About me
Dr. Javier Roo is a Senior Researcher in Aquaculture and Blue Economy and an Associate Professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He has over 25 years of experience leading R&D projects in marine aquaculture, specializing in fish nutrition and reproduction with new species. As a scientific advisor and project evaluator, Dr. Roo contributes to the Spain’s National Agency for Research Assessment. With 70 research papers, over 2717 citations, and an h-index of 29, his work has significantly shaped modern aquaculture practices. He has mentored PhD and Master’s students, directed high-impact projects, and collaborated extensively with the private sector to bridge the gap between scientific research and industry applications
