- Coastal communities: resilience, challenges and opportunities

The workshop aims to explore how islands can build their future resilience. Specifically, the workshop aims at fostering a constructive dialogue with stakeholders from various European countries, institutions, organizations on strengthening the social, economic and environmental resilience of island regions. Key topics of discussion within the workshop will include, among others, ways to address the threats posed by climate change and insularity, as well as the strategies that island communities should adopt in order to cultivate strong and resilient economies within the context of sustainable management of their resources. The workshop will facilitate knowledge-sharing, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to exchange best practices and identify actionable strategies. Expected outputs include concrete recommendations for resilience-building, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives.
