About

Researchers from Institute of Defence Technologies and Electronics and Communications departments of Gebze Technical University (GTU) focus on the emerging paradigms of 6G wireless networks and their requirements in terms of security, privacy, and sustainable connectivity. Consequently, we specialize in physical and lower MAC layer algorithm design for applications such security (for mission-critical applications as well as use cases where data privacy is necessary), localization and sensing (autonomous driving, factory automation, smart homes and societies), and simultaneous wireless and power transfer (SWIPT) and ambient backscatter IoT (for low-power and sustainable networks of the future). Additionally, multiple accessing and mobility management (handover) mechanisms, specifically for non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) are also an area of our interest.

Apart from these, our researchers are also well-versed in hardware design capabilities, especially reconfigurable antenna, which aligns with the increasing interest in reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) for smart propagation environment. In addition to algorithm design, the laboratory facilities at GTU also enable the validation of designed algorithms using software-defined radio (SDR)-based testbeds. Finally, GTU also boasts a dedicated teams at its International Projects Office to help with the project proposal preparation and management tasks.
