About

Developing an Online Infertility Prevention Training Program for University Students

This online training program has been developed to expand the impact of the TÜBİTAK Project No. 215K001. The primary goal of this project is to assess university students' knowledge and attitudes regarding infertility, along with the factors influencing these aspects. Based on the findings, the project aims to design an online training program that facilitates knowledge dissemination while evaluating its effectiveness.

In Turkey, research on university students' knowledge and attitudes toward infertility is limited, and no online education or psychoeducation programs specifically targeting infertility prevention have been identified. By understanding students' current knowledge levels and attitudes and implementing preventive strategies to address misconceptions and knowledge gaps, the project aspires to foster a healthier and more informed younger generation.

The project focuses on examining the design, development, and iterative improvement of the “Online Infertility Prevention Training” (OIPT) through a structured process that includes:

Needs Analysis,

Design and Development of OIPT,

Usability Testing,

Redesign,

Implementation in a Classroom Setting, and

Comparison of Iterations II and III to Determine Effectiveness (See Figure 1).

As part of an iterative design process, continuous refinements have been made to improve usability, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students' knowledge.

The training system incorporates multimedia learning materials, including interactive expert videos and animations, all developed in accordance with Mayer’s multimedia design principles. Additionally, the program features augmented reality (AR) models, further enriching the learning experience through interactive and immersive elements.
