Established by Petkim in 1969, SOCAR Türkiye R&D and Innovation Inc. has been operating as an R&D center since December 2019. It focuses on developing innovative, sustainable, and market-oriented solutions in petrochemicals, energy, and digital transformation. With over 54 years of experience, it provides R&D services to SOCAR Türkiye and its group companies.
Located in Aliağa, İzmir, the R&D center houses six laboratories, a 400 m² pilot facility, and state-of-the-art testing equipment for catalyst research, green hydrogen, green ammonia, sustainability, recycling, digital transformation, and environmental solutions.
SOCAR Türkiye R&D actively participates in EU-funded projects. It has six Horizon projects: CARMOF, CO2 Focus, LOUISE (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage), NEFERTITI (solar-powered chemical production), Circular TwAIn (AI-driven circular economy), and ALGAESOL (SAF production from algal lipids). These projects align with SOCAR Türkiye's decarbonization goals and sustainable innovation strategies.
I am part of the management of the R&D Center, focusing on R&D project processes and national/international project incentives. I coordinate with internal teams (R&D, HR, Finance, Tax) to ensure smooth project execution and implement tools for resource, budget, and stakeholder management. I also collaborate with R&D researchers and international partners, oversee EU project grants, and support applications for various incentive programs.
