My name is Tefera Mekonen (Diploma in Animal Technology, B.Sc. in Animal and Wildlife Science, M.Sc. PhD in animal nutrition). I have been working for more than 35 years with in research center, as a technical assistance and researcher at different level. I have been working with small holder farmer conducting on-farm experiments and demonstrating research findings. I have produced two manuals related with sheep production and silage making. I have published 9 peer reviewd journals and 25 conference papers.

Debre Birhan Agricultural Research Center has been working to improve the performance of livestock (mainly dairy cattle and sheep) through improving genotype, feeding and health management. The center has been working small holder farmers and acknowledged and prized for its community based village based breeding program. Moreover, it has generated a number of feed and nutrition related technologies, demonstrated and scaled up.
