Matching Mission in Poland
This event aims to foster collaborations between actors in Photonics & Quantum Technologies and those of the Polish Agrifood & Biotech ecosystem.
What is PhotonQboost?
We offer a range of funded services to increase the innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability of European SMEs. Our services center on the development and use of solutions powered by Photonics & Quantum Technologies.
Among those funded services, the Matching Missions aim to introduce various sectors of the economy (such as Agrifood & Biotech) to the possibilities that Photonics & Quantum Tech innovations could open for them.
Of course, learning about possibilities is just the start!
This Matching Mission will give you a unique opportunity to start a collaboration with companies of your choice among the other participants in order to apply together to our Open Calls for Funding and/or to apply to our advisory services.
Our Matching Missions are 3-day events with no registration fee.

PhotonQboost is a project funded by the European Union under the Grant Agreement N° 101177922.
What benefits can you expect?
Strategic exposure: Gain direct access to key players in the innovation ecosystem and explore how your technologies can contribute to agrifood and biotech transformation.
Networking and visibility: Present your organisation, discover collaboration opportunities, and position yourself for upcoming PhotonQBoost funding calls.
Expert guidance and follow-up: During and after the mission, selected SMEs may access further tailored support services from PhotonQBoost.
Access to future funding opportunities: Learn about relevant funding opportunities and build your proposal with the present participants..
Photonics in Poland
Photonics is a thriving sector in the country, with 6 major academic hubs of more than 10 universities, 6 research institutes, and around 100 companies. Europe is the top export destination of the Polish photonics industry. Technological expertise lies mainly (but not only!) in
-
Materials (for OLED and PV, quantum dots, III-V, GaN, graphene and photonics crystals, soft glasses);
-
Special optical fibres;
-
PIC design and nanoprint systems;
-
Quantum cascade laser, femtosecond lasers;
-
Special application optics and thin film coatings
Agrifood in Poland
The Polish agrifood sector is considerable: More than 1,200 companies were exporting 44% of their production in 2020, a share that keeps increasing. The sector represents 26% of the industry production in Poland and is quick to take photonics innovations up for production, quality control and disinfection.
