Nabladot has more than 20 years of experience developing simulation-based solutions for a wide range of sectors, including energy, water, and manufacturing. Currently, we're actively involved in creating advanced digital solutions that are being applied to continuous processes such as digital twins, cyber-physical systems, virtual sensors, and the combination of real and synthetic data (such as simulation) with artificial intelligence techniques. We have already implemented these solutions primarily in the manufacturing, environment, and wastewater treatment sectors (biological processes). However, we have the capability to apply this methodology across multiple industries. We can contribute to CL5 projects with our expertise in mathematical process modelling and in the development of digital solutions, such as digital twins or virtual sensors.

About me

Dr. Antonio Gómez (male) is a founding partner and R&D manager of Nabladot, S.L. After obtaining the Chemical Engineering degree (2000) at the University of Zaragoza, he began to collaborate as a researcher at the Numerical Fluid Dynamics Group (GFN) of the University of Zaragoza. In this group, Antonio Gómez combined research tasks with the development of his PhD degree, obtaining in the year 2011 with the thesis entitled “Renewable energy and energy scenarios for Spain”. This thesis was recognized with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the University of Zaragoza (2011). In 2010, he, together with other colleagues from the Fluid Mechanics Area of the University of Zaragoza, founded Nabladot, S.L. to bring fluid simulation techniques closer to the industrial and civil sectors. From 2010 to 2016, he continued his work as a researcher in the Fluid Mechanics Area, combining it with occasional collaborations with Nabladot, S.L., until in 2016, he definitively joined Nabladot, S.L. as R&D manager. Currently, he combines his work in Nabladot, S.L. with the adjunct professor position (Fluid Mechanics) at the University of Zaragoza.
He has participated as a researcher in 15 European projects (NICE-COAL, Flowgrid, Flexi Brun CFB, CloudFlow, Fortissimo 2, CloudiFacturing, PrioritEE, DT4Biomass, PrioritEE PLUS, DigitBrain, crossCert, HydroGr(RE)Energy-Env, DT4ART, FLUIDOS, Fortissimo Plus), at least 15 projects with national public funding and more than 60 projects with private entities. Among the entities with which it has collaborated are: Alcoa, Asian Development Bank, Biocurve, CEMEX España SA, CIEMAT, Cikautxo, CIUDEN, EDP, ENDESA, Wood group, IDOM, Government of the Republic of El Salvador, Iberdrola, Idom, Ikerlan, Ringo Valves, UNESA and Valeo Térmico. His contribution to these projects was related to the following themes: fluid flow modelling using CFD techniques, simulation of energy systems (LEAP), combustion, renewable energies, heat transfer and energy efficiency. Besides these tasks, he has developed managing and supervision activities in these projects, especially the last six years. His contribution to these projects was related to the following themes: fluid flow modelling using CFD techniques, simulation of energy systems (LEAP), combustion, renewable energies, heat transfer and energy efficiency. His research work has been reflected in his participation as an author in 26 articles in indexed international journals, 2 chapters in a book (Asia’s Energy Challenge: Key Issues and Policy Options) and the preparation of papers in 15 international conferences.

In recent years, his activities have focused on adapting simulation techniques to the requirements of industry 4.0 through its participation in European projects within the I4MS initiative (ICT & Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs) such as CloudFlow, Fortissimo 2, Cloudifacturing and DigitBrain, as well as the DT4Biomass project (Digital Twins for Biomass Boilers) and DT4ART (Digital Twins for Anaerobic Reactors). His research activities in the public sector and the business sector provide him with a good understanding of both the current state of simulation techniques and the needs of companies, especially in the context of Industry 4.0.

My organisation

Nabladot has more than 20 years of experience developing simulation-based solutions for a wide range of sectors, including energy, water, and manufacturing.

At Nabladot, we provide a comprehensive range of digital solutions for designing and operating equipment and processes, from advanced simulations to digital twins. Our approach is innovative, and we actively participate in various R&D projects at both national and European levels.

We have significant experience in developing digital twins for processes across various sectors, including energy, wastewater treatment, gas cleaning, and air quality. In the wastewater treatment sector, we have developed digital twins for processes such as secondary treatment (aerobic and anaerobic) and tertiary treatment (ultraviolet disinfection). These tools enable improved decision-making, reduced operating costs, and increased process efficiency.

We seek to connect with organizations interested in adopting digital tools for wastewater treatment, whether for direct implementation or the joint development of new solutions.
