About me
Hello, I’m Kaisa Karhunen, the CEO of BioMush. With nearly 25 years of experience in the food industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with global companies like Valio, Unilever, Sodexo, and Findus. In 2022, I joined BioMush, a Finnish food tech company, to lead our mission of transforming food industry side streams into valuable, umami-flavored ingredients.
At BioMush, we’ve developed innovative solid-state fermentation technology that not only reduces industrial waste but also creates natural, clean-label flavoring solutions for plant-based foods. Our efforts have already helped us raise $3.08 million to tackle the significant amount of global food industry sidestreams wasted annually.
I’m passionate about driving sustainable solutions in the food industry and excited about the future of BioMush. Let’s create a more sustainable and flavorful world together!
