At NGN, we believe in the transformative power of insect farming to address pressing global challenges, such as food security, income generation, and environmental sustainability. By leveraging Dutch expertise in agriculture and collaborating with local communities, we aim to empower individuals and organizations in the Global South to adopt sustainable farming practices. NGN is an innovative organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development and promoting circular economies through strategic initiatives and partnerships. Our focus is on integrating cutting-edge agricultural practices, with a particular emphasis on insect farming, which offers climate-smart protein sources and vital nutrients. Our work include: 1. Training Programs: We conduct comprehensive training sessions to educate local farmers and entrepreneurs on the benefits and techniques of insect farming. These programs enable communities to harness local resources effectively and sustainably. 2. Research and Development: NGN actively engages in research to identify the best insect species and substrates for farming, nutritional values, processing methods, and market opportunities. Our findings guide our partners and stakeholders in making informed decisions about their agricultural practices. 3. Business Incubation: We support aspiring entrepreneurs in the insect farming sector through business incubation programs that provide access to resources, mentorship, and market connections. Our goal is to stimulate economic growth and innovation. 4. Pa_rtnerships:_ Collaboration is at the heart of NGN's approach. By working with organizations such as HollandDoor, we share knowledge and expertise to create scalable solutions that enhance food systems and build resilient communities. At NGN, we envision a future where insect farming plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable food systems, reducing waste, and empowering local economies. About me

Marian Peters BSc. MBA, female, studied Applied Sciences in Wageningen. In 2012 she earned her MBA degree in Business Creation in Food and Health.  Marian has 15  years  of  experience  initiating  and  executing  (commercial) employment  projects  (Randstad);  innovative  projects  (including  EU  projects)  initiated  (City  of  Amsterdam  and  the Province  of  North  Holland)  and was  responsible  for  drafting  policy,  labour,  economic  and  agricultural  innovation projects.

Since 2004, Marian is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Venik (Dutch Insect Producers Association) and the International Insect Centre (Cooperative, 2013) cooperation and business creation network in the insect supply chain not only in Europe but also Africa. Her work is dedicated to the promotion and introduction of insects for human consumption and the development of new and safe products.

Important results of  Marian's  work:  cooperation  with  Wageningen  University  and  Research  Centre  (Agricultural University (WUR)), insects in the policy and legislation of the Netherlands (Green-deal), EU and Food and Agricultural Organization  of  the  United  Nations  (FAO),  the  creation  of  partnerships  and  participation  in  various  (international) projects. Marian is co-author of the cookbook; The Insect Cookbook -Food for a sustainable planet and has written articles for books and publications of United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization/FAO, the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies and the trend book 'The Future of Food ".  The latest publication of Marian (2020) is the ‘Agenda for innovation for Dutch Insect Sector 2020-2024’ www.venik.nl/sectorplan. Marian gives many presentations, including TEDx presentations.
