About me
With a background in veterinary medicine and a Master's in Microbial Biotechnology, I have developed a strong passion for bioinformatics. This field was introduced to me by Professor Dimitri Gilis for my PhD in Agriculture and Bio-engineering at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
My research aims to leverage bioinformatics to explore the complexities of food allergies and allergens, particularly through the creation of an innovative in-silico tool designed to predict new allergens, along with a specialized database for food allergens. I will cover the food allergen database, a selection of existing tools, their evaluations, and some of our future perspectives. Currently funded by FEDER, I previously received a scholarship from Wallonie-Bruxelles International, which has greatly supported my studies in Belgium.
