PASSION IS CONTAGIOUS The history of Delite wineries is as young as it is ancient. The company is just over two years old, but behind the products of our cellar there is a peasant knowledge that has its roots in the early 1900s. The De Lisio generations do not betray the old family tradition; an overwhelming passion for one of man’s most noble professions: the vineyard. The magic of wine begins in the vineyard, whence it comes to life and takes shape thanks to the masterful work of man who knows and follows the dictates of time and earth. Tradition and peasant knowledge find the right balance with modern winemaking techniques to obtain a unique product with a strong personality. The passion of Generoso De Lisio and his loving management of the vineyard, for over fifty years, are the added value of this family business which is renewed through the managerial work of his children and his grandson Emanuele, today the owner of the company, trained at the Royal School of Viticulture and Oenology, commissioned by Francesco De Sanctis of Avellino and assisted by an expert and passionate oenologist, he creates the proposed labels.

About me

The Delite winery operates within the territory of Irpinia, ideally suited to the production of Aglianico. Six hectares of vineyard enjoy the best hilly exposure in the Calore Valley, and are passionately cared for by the family company right through to vinification. The volcanic soil, covered by a strata of clay rich in potassium gives the vine its essential elements. By gradually releasing water to the vines, the clay promotes an unhurried and balanced grape maturation throughout the summer months. It is on the hills of Montemarano, in the territory of Irpinia, where the company is located, that the triumph of Aglianico is celebrated as 'A grape with particular characteristics that acquires its specific identity only when it becomes wine'. The characteristics of the territory give Aglianico a significant tannic load, making it necessary to wait at least 4 to 5 years in order to fully appreciate the great aromatic and polyphenolic richness of this great wine.
