Social Transformations and Resilience - Foresight Platform

To contribute to the ‘Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda’ (SRIA) for the new European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience, we invite experts to participate in our survey on trends related to the topic ‘Fair transition towards climate neutrality’. Specifically, we invite you to rate and comment on an initial list of 24 trends identified through desk research. The survey aims at validating and prioritising trends and at identifying any missing trends.

The survey takes about 10–20 minutes, depending on the level of detail you wish to provide. Survey responses will go into the development of the SRIA and will be complemented by the results of qualitative interviews and the output of a succeeding workshop. Your responses are anonymous.

Context of the project: Expected to launch in 2027, the EU Partnership on Social Transformation and Resilience aims to create a transformative R&I programme for the social sciences and humanities that contributes to strengthening resilience, fairness, inclusiveness, and social cohesion in response to major societal challenges. One of the key impact areas is ‘Contributing to a fair transition towards climate neutrality’.

So far, three trend surveys have been conducted on the thematic areas of the EU Partnership on Social Transformation and Resilience and the fourth and last survey is ongoing (see above).

• Social Protection Systems and Essential Services (July-September 2025)

• Fair Transition towards Climate Neutrality (November-December 2025)

The European Commission is planning a European Partnership on Social Transformations and Resilience. We, at DLR Project Management Agency Projektträger, are happy to conduct a foresight process towards developing the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) that will guide the Partnership activities from 2026 onwards. In this context, we invite you to participate in an online survey.

In preparation for the SRIA, we gathered emerging trends in education and skills development. Based thereon, we ask you to

• assess their impact on the future, and

• Identify any missing trends or overlooked developments.

The new European Partnership for Social Transformation and Resilience (STR Partnership) aims at creating a transformative research and innovation programme in the social sciences and humanities to strengthen resilience, fairness, inclusiveness, and social cohesion in response to major societal challenges. Expected to launch in 2027, the Partnership is now developing its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) to guide future research and policy efforts.

One of the key impact areas is the future of work – how evolving trends will shape employment, skills, and workforce dynamics in the coming years.

You are invited to contribute your insights on the future of work by:

• Analysing and validating trends identified through research,

• Assessing their impact on the future of work, and

• Identifying any missing trends or overlooked developments.

The survey takes 5–20 minutes, depending on the level of detail you wish to provide. Your responses are anonymous and will directly inform the development of the SRIA.

The survey will be open until 31 March 2025.
