I am a biobanker, working for Sapien Biosciences, the first commercial Biobank in India and one of the top 10 in the world! I have a range of expertise and experience gained from over 20 years in the biomedical research domain, plus experience of working within a startup to multinational companies. A scientist by training, and as I started to grow in my professional career and roles, I earned a business degree as well from the prestigious business schools in India.
In the last 20 years, I have grown from a hardcore technical specialist to a business leader. Before joining Sapien Biobank, I was involved in preparing the stage for the Indian government to come up with policies for biomedical research using medical waste in Lonza. That helped me to start working and setting up the framework for India’s first commercial Biobank and formulate ethical and compliance policies of the highest standard.

We are Sapien Biosciences Private Limited, a cutting-edge biotechnology company specializing in personalized medicine solutions in India with all major global clients. Sapien is a multi-disease, multi-hospital biobank that provides high-quality samples to global pharma in NCDs (cancer, autoimmune, psoriasis, CKD, IBD, NASH, etc) along with normal samples for the last 10 years. We have built a rich collection of annotated cancer patient samples, such as FFPE blocks, flash-frozen tissue, live cancer cells as well as matched plasma/serum and blood cells. We perform custom cell assays using patient-derived cells to test the anti-cancer activity of drug candidates alone or in combination with I-O drugs like Keytruda, and co-culture assays using cancer cells with PBMCs for cell-killing. We would like to explore if our biobank services would be of value to you. Data from our assays has been used for FDA submission, IP application, and publications by Aveta, Natreon, and Hillstream. We are open to collaborations, particularly in genomics and proteomics arenas. We partnered with ThermoFisher to sequence ~1000 of our cancer cases in the Oncomine Dx panel.
