The University Institute of Food Engineering – FoodUPV is a research structure of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) that brings together researchers who develop their work in the area of food science and technology, an area in which the UPV has always stood out and in which it appears in the top 100 worldwide according to the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects index of the prestigious Shanghai Ranking.
I have 23 years of professional experience in the field of innovation in the agri-food sector, developing my professional career both in the public sphere (FAO, Conselleria de Agricultura y Universitat Politècnica de Valencia) and in the private sector (food industries and ainia technological center), which allows me to know first-hand the different perspectives of innovation systems.
In this field, I have participated and led technology transfer projects at national and European level (Framework Program, National Plan, Interreg, etc.) and I have been involved as an innovation expert in numerous networks (Industry Technological Prospective Observatory - OPTI, Leadership for eight years of the agri-food sector group of the Enterprise Europe Network - EEN or the Office of R&Di business projects of the Valencian Community - OPIDI-CV). I have also worked as an expert for the European Commission in different contracts: Project evaluator; Impact Assessment FP8; Skills needed for scientists in the future bio-economy; ERAC peer review of Spanish Research and Innovation Strategy; Agrofood Sector Group (EEN) Chairman.
In the area of R&D Project Management, I have participated in the achievement and execution of numerous public and private projects at regional, national and international level, mobilizing more than 150 projects and 25 million euros.
